Routine

I really tried not to start this entry by proclaiming how happy I am that it’s Friday but there’s no denying it. There is just a different feeling on a Friday and not just because everyone gets to be that bit casual. I think it’s a mixture of excitement at the weekend to come and shared relief at the completion of another work week.

When I was younger and working in the wonderfully inconsistent work week world that is retail I swore that I’d never be a 9-5 Monday to Friday girl. I had nothing but disdain for those schlubs trudging to work morning after morning. In fact we used to make a point of going out to bars Sunday through Thursday because Friday and Saturday were for chumps.

Ah if my headstrong, opinionated young self could see me now. Happy to be in bed by 9:30pm on a Tuesday; hanging out for the weekend; occasionally even using terms like TGIF even. *Sigh*

Something my young self would be proud of though is the grunge elements in this outfit. The awesome colour that is army green; the cut of the dress; the Doc Martens. I’m sure she’d approve. We could hang out and discuss the finer points of the highly unlikely relationship between Ally Sheedy and Emelio Estevez in The Breakfast Club. Sip our decaf soy lattes (that hasn’t changed) and watch the world go by.

  2. Lurve army green, especially mixed with a really girly floral dress.
