I don't know why, but a shirtdress and a headscarf say housewife to me.
I guess it's not too hard to figure it out. The 50's anyone?
This dress is brilliant but I just haven't managed to get a good photo of it yet. I fell in love when I spotted it across the store (it was totally one of those - "I am buying this whether it fits or not" kinda things. And hallelujah it fits!) and have worn it a few times but nothing quite captures the utter radness.
It's sort of a Mexican/Aztec/70's/80s kinda deal. Intriguing, right? I know. Hold tight, one of these days it'll have it's moment in the sun.

I like the pattern of the dress from what I can see :] And the top photo does look very "housewife", haha. But in a good way!
ReplyDeleteYou're righ it is kind of housewifey. I don't mind it though. I guess if you wanted to change the look of it I'd pair it with some boots or even sneakers and hair down. That would look "cooler" in a way. But wear it the way you wear it! And post pictures where we can see the whole look to get a better idea of it.

I know exactly where you were in March 82 heh heh Great Post, so true, it's the Arm and Hammer look but no matter what look, YOU always manage to make it look good, funky, cool, kipper, penaz pants.

I can already tell the print is awesome! I like the nonchalant gaze in the first photo - it fits with the 50's housewife image. ;)
